Multi-faceted Challenges of Confronting Emerging Contaminants at Complex Superfund Waste Sites: PFAS as a Case Study Optimization of Remediation Planning Approaches Based on Lessons Learned at the Sellafield Site, UK **There are 15-minute breaks between sessions MondayĮnvironmental Remediation Challenges and Responses Following Nuclear Accidents: Lessons Learned from the Fukushima Daiichi AccidentĬollaborative Process to Assess DOE Legacy Management High Risk Sites Using Tuba City, Arizona as an Example *All sessions are in Pacific Standard Time, originating out of Washington State The integration of plenary and technical sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities will provide interactive, hands‐on, practical experiences for translating site‐specific knowledge and lessons learned to the broader issues faced by the environmental remediation community. Unlike other environmental remediation conferences that are centered on technical sessions with little opportunity for application‐based learning and client interactions, the Summit’s distinguishing international case study approach will bring together participants from government, industry, and research institutions to examine site‐specific challenges and collaborate on application of both proven and innovative solutions. Sessions will be structured around international case studies to provide a unique platform for knowledge sharing and technology transfer. The Summit-to be held virtually November 8-12, hosted by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL)-will provide an international forum where challenges, barriers, and innovative solutions for successful remediation and long‐term stewardship of contaminated sites will be discussed to share lessons learned and to better understand remediation needs worldwide. The Center for the Remediation of Complex Sites (RemPlex) invites participants to a Global Summit on Environmental Remediation, being organized in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
